E. coli Translation Elongation
| Prokaryotic Translation | Table of Contents |
Once the Initiation Complex has formed and a tRNA is bound to the Start Codon, the process of Elongation can occur. This process, by which the mRNA is translated into a polypeptide (protein) is shown in these figures. The codons are read 5' to 3' along the mRNA and the growing polypeptide is synthesized from the Amino-terminus to the Carboxyl-terminus.
