Pseudoautosomal Genes
A pseudoautosomal gene is a gene that is located on both the X and Y chromosomes. These genes are sex-linked but show the same inheritance pattern as autosomal genes. In humans there appear to be a few dozen such genes. There are two regions of the X and Y chromosomes that carry the same chromosome content and they are referred to as the pseudoautosomal regions PAR1 and PAR2.
